Model RGE Solid Body 8-string Fan Fret torrified Swamp Ash and Maple neck. Thanks to everyone for their help!! My customer has waited a long time for the completion of this guitar, thanks so much!! Due to the tight, more standard string spacing I could not use any premade saddles so we came up with this idea from my acoustic building. The ebony bridge is inlaid into the top and the saddle is all brass so we could get the necessary grounding. The string holder is also ebony and inlaid into the back held in place by string tension and light magnets which hold to the heads of the hidden screws holding the bridge in place. The ebony plate for the pots is also held in place by magnets. The pickup, by Kent Armstrong was built into our provided ebony box. Scales are 29" bass and 24.75" treble. It's standard tuning with the 5 guitar strings high E to A then the 3 bass strings are low E, A and D. The guitar sounds great even acoustically. The neck has no color, this is the color after the maple was torrified. Paul Schraub Photography
This was a fun project, owner supplied Blackwood with the Year of the Dragon theme from 3 guitar makers, myself, Casimi Guitars and Issac Jang Guitars. The inlay was designed by Ni Yang . Arianna of Aree Guitars in Italy did the inlay using precious metal dusts. The KTAR tuners are also Italian made. As always I feel obligated to tell you this guitar sounds massive, rich, loud, warm and with an exceptional clarity. Again, I think I'm a fan of my guitar sound, haha! Fun project, my first Model OO using Maple with a Mahogany neck. I always say the same things I know but this guitar sounds amazing, haha, big and balanced in all the ranges. I'm really happy with it.
Thanks to Paul Schraub photography, Maple is hard to photograph.
Killer bass with my usual strong mids and beautiful bright highs. Lovely light feel to this guitar, I love it!
